Priogen's founding team pioneered high-throughput QuIC testing. The team operates one of the largest RT-QuIC labs in the world, running thousands of reactions every week.

Powered by MNPROtein™ Substrate

Used in a growing number of peer-reviewed research studies, our QuIC kits leverage the industry standard RT-QuIC recombinant substrate, MNPROtein™. MNPROtein™ is used in academic, government, and industry research labs around the world, allowing for direct comparison of results (see below for more information).

Nano-QuIC™ Technology

Nano-QuIC™ improves RT-QuIC reaction kinetics for tissue samples by orders of magnitude. The assay overcomes inhibitors present in blood and brain samples, facilitating the testing of a greater range of dilutions.

Priogen's Nano-QuIC™ technology improves RT-QuIC reaction kinetics and overcomes inhibitors associated with various sample types. By incorporating silica nanoparticles into the RT-QuIC assay, Nano-QuIC™ reduces detection times (top graph) and boosts sensitivity helping to reduce false-negative results (bottom graph). MNPROtein™ Substrate

Priogen's QuIC kits ship with MNPROtein™, a Syrian hamster recombinant truncated prion protein (amino acids 90–231) optimized for QuIC experiments. Recognizing the need for RT-QuIC standardization, our founding team began mass-producing MNPROtein™ at the University of Minnesota in 2019. An increasing number of peer-reviewed publications use MNPROtein™, allowing for cross-lab comparison of results and replication of published findings.

Concentration of MNPROtein™ is determined with A280, mass attenuation coefficient of 1.4, and is purified with nickel-affinity chromatography. Every batch of MNPROtein™ is produced with high quality control through current Good Manufacturing Practice aligning with FDA CFR Title 21 Part 211, and is internally validated for performance before shipping as part of RT-QuIC and Nano-QuIC™ kits.
